You may not be aware of the current initiative of five European countries - Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Norway in coordination with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) - to restrict the manufacture and use of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), a diverse group of over 4,700 chemicals that contain carbon-fluorine bonds.
 

THERMAL-OXIDATIVE DEGRADATION OF RUBBER

Most elastomers will undergo significant changes over time when exposed to heat, light, or oxygen (ozone). These changes can have a dramatic effect on the service life and properties of the elastomer and can only be prevented or slowed down by the addition of UV stabilizers, anti-ozonates, and antioxidants.
