"Their position in the supply chain as specialist providers of semi-finished products, require an entirely different set of supply chain solutions from a material supplier."

Material Converters are critical service providers to Original Equipment Manufacturers and MROP business around the world. Their position in the supply chain as specialist providers of semi-finished products, produced using a variety of processing techniques, often to Just In Time service criteria, require an entirely different set of supply chain solutions from a material supplier.

MacLellan Rubber work with the Converters of semi-finished products across the globe providing a range of materials and services that support their business with OEMs and MROP companies who in turn operate within a wide variety of industries. Our extensive range of High Integrity materials are widely recognised for their premium performance in the most demanding of applications and coupled with our service levels and range of supply options, make MacLellan Rubber a preferred supplier for many of the leading converters across Europe.

With over 600 tonnes of material available in stock at any one time for immediate despatch, a lead time for special mixes of around six working weeks and minimum batch quantities of 150kg, MacLellan can be boastful in its ability to service its Converter customer base especially with On Time In Full (OTIF) performance typically running at over 98%.

Our business offers more than simply stock products and short lead times on manufactured product, our service commitment to material converters includes:

Technical Support – Identification of materials to suit given operating criteria or a client technical specification is widely used by our customers who are often presented with limited information. In addition we undertaken analysis and evaluation of material samples frequently from used and difficult to identify product samples. We also provide on-site support and evaluation where customers are experiencing problems with an installation which can be a result of wrongly specified material, poor installation and fitting or simply the wrong data provided on the application.

Stock Holding – Where availability of supply is critical and non-supply is not an option we can offer dedicated or ring fenced stock at either at our central distribution warehouse or clients manufacturing facility. These stocks are managed by the site personnel and usage is reported on a daily, weekly or monthly basis with replacements delivered next day these arrangements are usually covered by Consignment Stock Agreements with commitments expected from both parties. These arrangements can be financial as well as commercial with clients having access to stock on an immediate basis but only having one monthly invoice and often a restocking level that precludes carriage costs.
