Drinking Water Approved Materials for Gaskets

09 Mar 2020

MacLellan offer materials specifically certified for use in drinking water applications using materials manufactured within the EU, independently tested and fully certified.

Our materials and products are widely used by gasket manufacturers supplying drinking water industry applications including flanged pipeline installations, pumping equipment, sanitizing processes, and domestic drinking water equipment.

We offer materials certified to the latest standards including but not limited to:

WRAS (UK)

UBA (Germany)

KTW (Germany)

W270 (Germany)

ACS (France)

Belgaqua (Belgium)

As well as achieving independent certification for our materials, we undertake batch testing of all compounds to ensure consistency and compliance.

Our EPDM Drinking Water application materials are generally manufactured as 70 Shore A to work with the bolt loads typically associated with pipeline applications but can be modified within + / - 10 degrees Shore A, subject to approval.

We also supply Silicone, Nitrile and Butyl Polymers as Roll sheeting or as moulded sheeting and WRAS certified Plastics such as PTFE, Acetal and Nylon.

The bulk of our materials are used in the production of gaskets for flanges used in pipeline and pumping applications.  The style of gaskets for standard pipelines are most commonly as defined below – Full Faced (FF), Inner Bolt Circle (IBC), and Mickey Mouse (2 Lug), but can also be user defined where and application is nonstandard.
