Butadiene Acrylonitrile Rubber

Butadiene Acrylonitrile Rubber is normally abbreviated to NBR, but is more commonly known as Nitrile and is a synthetic Polymer. Rubber Sheeting described as Nitrile will be a blend of polymers including a percentage of Butadiene Acrylonitrile Rubber. Specification Grades such as BS2751 and EN549 (for use in Gas applications) will contain higher levels of Butadiene Acrylonitrile Rubber than commercial grades. Typically used in the manufacture of Rubber Gaskets and Seals where resistance to oils and chemicals are required.

Food Grade Rubber in Nitrile is typically manufactured as White Rubber and should be independently tested and certified to EU1935 or FDA. MacLellan Food Quality Rubber is also certified Nitrosamine Free.
