Cloudy effect or whitish powdery deposit on the surface of a solid rubber or plastic article caused by the exudation of a compounding ingredient such as a lubricant, stabiliser pigment, plasticiser, etc. often deliberately incorporated as an antitoxidant layer to the moulded part. This is a common effect on rubber sheeting and is easily removed by wiping.
